Performance module: factory planning

Planning a kitchen factory for the low-end market segment

Highly flexible production control cuts human resources costs

Our mission

Our task, besides setting out the surrounding conditions and planning the production site including the building and production equipment technology as well as the digital infrastructure, was to develop a logistics strategy. We were also asked to create a requirements specification and to support our customer with the choice of suppliers.

Our scope of work

With the help of a scoring matrix, we defined the possible technologies for the individual manufacturing systems and designed a detailed factory layout. Within the framework of the logistics concept, we established the necessary processes and visualized the defined processes. For the digital manufacturing concept,

  •  we created a list of requirements,
  •  developed manufacturing strategies,
  •  defined the digital processes and
  •  assisted the customer with the interface definition (connection to MES/ERP).

Benefits

The newly planned kitchen factory has a production capacity of 5000 units per day in two-shift operation. In this process, the flexible automatic manufacturing execution system (MES) ensures high productivity along the entire value-adding chain. At the same time, the high level of automation in the processing plant reduces human resources costs.
