We are convinced by the longevity of our Products

Scrapping is not sustainable: the IMA Schelling Group also offers factory-refurbished second-hand machines.

How much will you give me for the old one?“ A familiar question with cars: if you are buying a new car, you trade in the old one. But how much you will get for the old one can also be discussed when purchasing the machines and systems of the IMA Schelling Group for commercially machining woods, plastics, and metals.

TRADING IN OLD MACHINES

We do this because we are convinced by the longevity of our products,“ says CSO Second Hand Machines Oliver Westerkamp. The company promises those who buy new products that in future they will be able to trade in their old machines. The age up to which machines will be bought depends on their condition in each individual case. „In aluminum machining, for example, we refurbish systems that are more than twenty years old,“ explains Westerkamp.

IMA Schelling thoroughly overhauls the old machines. Functional components are refurbished, wear parts are replaced, and the control system is exchanged or updated. The company has put together a dedicated overhaul team of experienced experts and junior colleagues.

FACTORY-OVERHAULED FOR QUALITY

What has been successfully practised in the field of saws for many years is to be extended to all product areas in future under the name „Second Hand Machines“. The refurbished used machines will then be for sale and, depending on the refurbish scope, IMA Schelling offers a warranty of up to twelve months. „Getting rid of components that still work is simply a waste of resources,“ stresses Westerkamp. „And it is no longer in keeping with the times.“

As well as saving resources, buyers of a second-hand machine realize many other advantages. They get a machine of certified quality that is available far more quickly – an aspect that should not be underestimated in times when supply chains are under stress. „Customers who are interested in a second-hand machine can also register specific conversion requests, which can then be implemented during the overhaul,“ explains Oliver Westerkamp. This means that the environment is not the only beneficiary, the customer is too.
