SMALL REGION, GREAT EXPERIENCES
Deep waters and high mountains, natural landscapes and vivid cities - the Vorarlberg region in Austria satisfies many tastes. It was always worth visiting the home of Schelling!
With the Lake Constance in the North and the Montafon in the South, the Vorarlberg state creates a perfect panorama for wonderful holidays – the Schelling Schwarzach site near Bregenz could not be more beautifully situated. In every season, the “Ländle” – as the local people call it – will invite you to have unforgettable moments. For example to climb the Zimba, this 2643 metres high mountain which they also call “the Montafon Matterhorn” - an allusion to the Matterhorn mountain (the most famous Swiss mountain, 4478m). Or to relax at the Lake of Constance, feet in water, listening to Verdi’s aria “La donna è mobile” from Rigoletto on the sea stage of Bregenz (Bregenzer Seebühne). In autumn, to watch the cows going down the Alps – cows which, for one season, have been giving milk that is now going to be transformed into the unique mountain cheese. And last but not least to go skiing in the Silvretta mountains and say cheers at the Nova Stoba tavern to celebrate your successful ski descent from the summit of the Silvretta mountain.
FAMILY ATMOSPHERE AND COSMOPOLITAN ATTITUDE
From South to North, Vorarlberg is only 100 kilometres long. About one third of the area is located above a level of 1000 metres. The region scores with a good infrastructure and its dense public transport network. In addition to that, ski lifts and cable cars take you to almost every summit with a good view. It is particularly the friendliness of the people that instantly makes you feel good both on the mountaintop and in the valley. Enjoy the idyllic mood and the familiar, yet at the same time cosmopolitan atmosphere. The "Schubertiade“ music festivals in Schwarzenberg and the Bregenz Festival attract guests from all over the world. And also the Bregenz House of Culture is impressive: designed by the internationally renowned architect Peter Zumthor, it presents contemporary international art in changing exhibitions.

INSIDER TIP
Dietmar Nussbaumer, IMA Schelling Group Digital GmbH management board
“The Bregenzerwald region is just around the corner and offers miscellaneous possibilities of skiing and hiking. Whoever want to stay for one night or more should try to check in at the “Romantikhotel Schiff” in Hittisau. The pavilion with heated outdoor pool invites you to relax, and the Ernele restaurant spoils its guests with regional specialties.“
