IMA Schelling France – successful fusion

New structure allows even faster and more direct customer support.

Since the beginning of 2021, the former IMA and Schelling branches in France operate under the name “IMA Schelling France” in Benfeld in the Alsace region. To this end, Schelling has terminated the agency contract with its previous agency “FSI Full Service Industrie” and transferred the FSI share into the new French agency.

Complete sales and service for all products of the IMA Schelling Group

Fusion and restructuring significantly improve the quality and availability of the sales and customer service processes. Therefore, IMA Schelling France not only invested in human resources but also in regular internal training of its employees in the fields of production optimization, maintenance, fault detection & diagnostics and quality. Training courses with partner companies – amongst them edging tape manufacturers and component suppliers – complement the other elements of the training and qualification programme. The branch in Benfeld is currently being expanded to include additional office locations and a production hall. The new hall is specifically intended for training and overhauling of machines.

Alsace – a border region that provides numerous opportunities for recreation

IMA Schelling France is not the only highlight of Benfeld. The small town that has a population of no more than 5700 inhabitants is idyllically situated on the banks of the River Ill. In the historic centre of Benfeld, especially the old town hall built in 1531, with its three tower clocks, is worth visiting. Only 30 km from Benfeld you will find the city of Strasbourg – a distance that can be travelled by bike through the “Grand Ried”. This nature reserve has many streams, canals, ponds and quarry lakes, which offer the perfect place to explore the Alsace countryside by canoe.

Strasbourg itself is known as the "Capital of Europe” and stands for the reconciliation of peoples. It is the headquarters of many European institutions such as the European Parliament and the Council of Europe. Visitors will discover impressive architecture from many centuries, picturesque alleyways in the old town of Strasbourg in Grande Île (Grand Island) and last but not least the Strasbourg Cathedral. And also the other sub-regions of Alsace offer plenty of sightseeing opportunities, gorgeous villages, picturesque vineyards as well as impressive castles and palaces. It is worth making a visit.

My tip for a visit to Alsace is the castle „Haut Koenigsburg“ in Orschwiller. It is not only an eye-catcher in itself, but also offers a spectacular view of the entire Alsace. To stop for dinner afterwards,
I recommend the „Tarte Flambées“ at the restaurant „à l‘Ange“ in Lipsheim.
