Whether working on a saw, an an edge bander or a drill, the user experience should always be the same. This was the goal of the engineers and IT specialists at IMA Schelling when developing the new interdisciplinary software architecture aimi (Artifactural Intelligence meets Machine Intelligence).

The aimi software provides a comprehensive overview of the entire production chain

Intuitive to use

"Historically, we had numerous different software products," explains Stefan Rische, Head of Software Development and Systems Control. From now on, this is a thing of the past. With aimi, all machines and systems are integrated into the individual customer environment and can be operated uniformly and intuitively.

Standardised interfaces

The software is divided into three functional modules: aimi.DO is used at the machine control, provides an overview of the production chain and offers an intuitive user interface. aimi.TALK manages and transfers data that is managed in upstream systems such as ERP and flows into the machines via interfaces. aimi.THINK offers a system-wide view of all machines and processes and recognises the production progress of the components. All modules communicate in encrypted form and are protected against unauthorised access.

Quick familiarisation

Data security, simple, intuitive operation and thus the possibility of faster familiarisation: these are the advantages of aimi. The software is now being implemented step by step; numerous interfaces will ensure that everyone benefit from the new solution.
