IMA Schelling Group changes leaders; Bernhard Berger is leaving IMA
Jul
2018
The past two years since the merger of IMA and Schelling to form the IMA Schelling Group were both a challenge and successful. Today both companies are amongst the world leaders in developing new technologies and processes.
As a chief executive officer and co-investor, Bernhard Berger accompanied and sustainably influenced the re-alignment of IMA in these years. Having already worked for IMA as chief executive officer from 2005 to 2008 and later as member of the supervisory board and shareholder, he knew the company through and through. Under his leadership, company turnover and profit increased substantially. Moreover the IMA production site in Lübbecke was expanded with two new halls having a total floor area of 7600 m² for the fabrication and commissioning of fully integrated lines. Hence customers benefited from an even higher quality of the IMA work cells.
Berger's retirement is facilitated by the fact that an experienced and competent management team consisting of Andreas Bischoff and Andreas Rinke is steering the company.
New chief executive officers for Schelling and the IMA Schelling Group
At Schelling, Christoph Geiger, together with Stefan Gritsch, has been running the business of the Austrian machine and plant manufacturer since April 2018. Before that, he was chief executive officer of Erne Fittings GmbH in Austria and responsible for the operative business of the company. Hence the previous Schelling chief executive officer Wolfgang Rohner, who has been working in this position for many years, can now focus on the leadership of the entire IMA Schelling Group.
The Group has been very successful in the three years since its founding. Now the synergies of the two companies IMA and Schelling can be utilized even more efficiently. Specifically in the field of batch size 1 production plants, the results are very encouraging: here as well as in the field of batch production, the Group installed future-oriented plants.
